NTT Communications has installed a prepaid SIM card vending machine at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.
The vending machine will provide an important support to tourists newly arrived in Japan by allowing them immediate access to the Internet in an easy and inexpensive way.
The machine not only dispenses prepaid SIM cards – as well as smartphones and accessories – but also the associated telephony services in a quick and easy way: the touchscreen provides all information in Chinese and English, accepts credit cards for payment, and, by scanning the passport, acquires the tourist’s data, registers them and provides immediate internet access.
The 13 million tourists (2014 figure) visiting Japan will be online before they even step on the ground in Tokyo!
